It's weird to think we've only been married a little over a month. Probably because we've been together a lot longer than that to begin with. People have been asking me how it feels, or how it's going. Honestly, it's not much different for us. Just now we sleep in the same place, and have to share a car.
But other than that, we're just like we were when we were dating. It's kinda funny actually. Andrew and I always say that we never had a "honeymoon phase". And we really never did. Dating and now married, we still banter (borderline bicker sometimes) and make sarcastic comments to each other. It just wouldn't be us if we were all lovey-dovey all the time. Now by all means, don't think that we don't love each other, cuz trust me we do. And we do cute newlywed things every now and then. We like to cuddle and watch Castle (or any movie really) and we like to cook together. Like I said, it's just weird to think we've only been married a month. I feel like we've already gone through a lifetime with him ;) But I'm all for a thousand lifetimes as long as I'm with Andrew (see that right there? Lovey dovey cute newlywed hahaha) Any other people felt this way when you first got married? Or are we freaks? hahahaha

So Andrew and I had Melissa and Devin over for dinner last week as our first real "dinner party". The following are pictures of our cute table if I do say so myself ;) And my apartment was super clean! And I wanted to prove it hahahahaha I fell in love with the Family Proclamation that was given to us from some awesome people in Andrew's home ward and our wedding pictures just totally compliment it. (Don't worry, I have another frame for the other side, I just have to attach the hangers to the frame itself)
BTW, dinner was stroganoff that Andrew made and it was delish! It was a super fun night and we really enjoyed having the Garcias over ;) I look forward to having more friends over ;) (this would be the part where y'all start telling me when you wanna come over and chill with us ;) ) So I've really felt like I needed to bake something. I've been feeling the need for awhile, but haven't been able to just do it. Too tired or whatever ya know?? Well Saturday night, while Andrew was at work, I made my famous peanut butter chocolate chip cookies ;) Ah 'twas bliss! The delicious dough ;) I'll admit that I eat a TON of the dough.... it's just so yummy I can't help it!
And my totally amazing Mickey spatula! (Thank you mama!!) And there they are! All cooled off and waiting for me to consume! Anyone want the recipe? Here ya go: (This is from a Betty Corcker cookbook but I customized it) 1 1/4 c. flour 3/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. packed brown sugar 1/2 c. peanut butter 1/2 c. buter or margerine 1 egg 1/2 tsp vanilla chocolate chips Preheat oven to 375* Mix the "wet" ingredients in one bowl: sugars, peanut butter, vanilla, butter, and egg. And "dry" ingredients in another bowl. After mixing the wet add in the dry and beat til fluffy. Add as much chocolate chips as desired. (I add a ton cuz I love chocolate hahaha) Then roll into balls on an ungreased cookie sheet. (I still grease mine just cuz I hate things sticking to my sheets and getting all nasty) The book says to cook for 10 minutes, and if you like them more crunchy and done then go for it. (I do mine for 8 minutes cuz I like them squishy) Something to look forward to: Mint Chocolate bark! I'm super excited to try it once I get the ingredients!! ;) It's now been an official month since Andrew and I were sealed ;) I've never been so happy in my entire life!
The day we got married it had started raining, and I was discouraged because our reception was outside! YIKES! But then I thought about it, isn't it like the best luck in the world to have rain on your wedding day?? We decided it was. Plus Andrew and I have always liked the rain, so it seemed fitting that it would rain on our big day ;) And luckily, it stopped raining long enough to have our reception and have our first dance and my daddy/daughter dance ;) Andrew is truly the best guy in the world. He cooks me food all the time (most of that will stop this week though cuz of school and work darn......) and does the dishes for me. He gives the best back rubs in the world! And I know he loves me. He shows me everyday by the simple little things: saying "good morning" as we wake up, hugs me when I truly need it, and tells me he loves me everyday multiple times ;) I love that we are a happy little family, even if it is only the two of us for now. We're so happy and so very much in love and it'll stay that way through eternity ;) And yes, I still blush when someone asks my name and I say "Ali Mills" ;) Ok so when I got married, I inherited many things: A husband, a sister, another family, and every Nintendo system except the original. Hahahahahaha yes friends. My husband is a NIntendo freak. Luckily, so am I ;) To start, the Super Nintendo: I LOVE the old school awesomeness of the Super. My favorite game on it is Yoshi's Island, and then Andrew introduced me to Tetris Attack. And man, I like that one too even though Andrew kicks my trash every single time. (anyone that wants to challenge him, PLEASE let me know and beat him to smithereens mmmk?) The N64. I really only play this one game on it but it's my FAVORITE game pretty much of all time. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Again, old school. I mean just look at that controller! YIKES! The Gamecube: Andrew loves Paper Mario, I play Animal Crossing. I really like this game cuz it's not really a game so much. You get a house and decorate it, pay off loans, etc. It's pretty much awesome and I play it all the time. ;) After the wedding, we had enough money to get a Wii. YAY! And we got this exact model too. A red Wii that came with Mario and a red controller ;) And as everyone knows, I love red!
I know this is kinda random but I felt like sharing my bounty with others ;) Anyone wanna come play with me??? Yes friends. It's now gone. Sorry for the ridiculous glare on my glasses. Such is the fate of growing old hahahahahaha anyways!
For those that don't know, my hair was halfway down my back and now is super short. Just like it was in high school. Andrew calls it the "classic Ali look". I for one, love it. It's now super easy to manage and doesn't get in my way. Woot!! Ok so I've been feeling very nostalgic and jealous of everyone that's gone to Disneyland in the past 4 months! I have been dying to go back and visit. I am feeling the definite need for some Mickey in my life hahahahaha ;) So most of you know I did the Disney College Program from January to August 2010 in Disneyland and loved it! (well it was a love/hate relationship as with all jobs) So I want to relive some of those awesome memories with you ;) Ready?? OK: The College Program official picture - can you see me??? I finally saw Sleeping Beauty after 8 months of working there! (and she's my favorite!) My dad took this picture when my family came to visit. Those letters are now gone cuz of the new entrance being built at DCA (Disney California Adventure for those not cool enough to know the acronym hahahahaha) I worked at the Grand Californian hotel for a pin event (it was huge!! And way fun cuz I'm a pin person) This was when my family dropped me offin January. We got to stay in the Disneyland Hotel cuz of Cast Member discounts! And we ate at the character dining breakfast at the hotel (Goofy's kitchen) One of the best parts was getting to be in the park with no guests around! This was taken after we toured the Fantasyland dark rides (Peter Pan, Snow White, Pinocchio, Mr Toad) My favorite thing was to walk around right before the park opened and just enjoy the music and to be able to not be jostled as you walked to your store to work. The Partners Statue in the "Hub" Inside the Dream Suite above Pirates of the Caribbean! Morgan and I were geeking out the entire time (and I might have cried a little bit....NBD) My favorite Fantasyland ride is Peter Pan. The ONLY time this doesn't have a line is when the park is closed. Hence the picture ;) Riding Space Mountain with the lights on!! Best, coolest, awesomest thing ever! First time on Splash Mountain. Can ya tell by the terror on my face hahahahaha Morgan and I liked to take pictures on rides. This would be on Big Thunder Railroad and yes, we are nuts ;) Ok so my friend Chris (the white guy) had never been on Indiana Jones which is MY favorite ride of all time (I even loved it so much that I left my phone in it somewhere, luckily Indy found it and gave it back) so we dragged him on it and took a picture in the pitch black queue blinding us and everyone around us for a good 30 seconds hahahahahahahaha Morgan and I bought the carmel apples in Critter Country cuz they were 50% off and were delicious! Yay for being Cast Members!! Best part though was getting engaged at the park! Sunset in front of the castle. Yeah you can gasp and "Oooooh precious" cuz it was awesome! This is where Andrew officially proposed but we forgot to get a picture of US there. But I figured a picture of me sufficed the need ;) It was mostly for my parents to see where it happened ;)
I can't wait to go visit in March!!! I've been having serious withdrawal issues of both Disneyland and my former roommate Morgan so I'm super excited to go visit both!! Woot! Anyone have any special memories of Disneyland or just Disney in general to share?? (P.S. For more info on the Disney College Program go here For more of MY adventures go here And why I love Disney so much, go here) These are just a few of the ones my dad took of us before the wedding day - we wanted some to display at the reception so we took them in November to have time to print! It was a beautiful rainy day in AZ when we got married! On a couple of these you can see the water droplets behind us! GORGEOUS! We were blessed with the family members that were able to come down and celebrate with us and we had the best time! Thank you Clements for letting us use your backyard for the reception even though it rained! I wish we had gotten more pictures of the beauty of the yard because it was straight out of a fairytale!
